ESG investing is available via Wren Sterling
Nottingham Building Society’s independent financial advice partner, Wren Sterling, now offers members the option to make environmental, social and governance-led (ESG) investments, alongside traditional investments when they become a client of Wren Sterling. They can also help members who are already Wren Sterling clients to adjust their investment criteria, if that’s appropriate.
What is ESG investing?
Environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria are a set of standards for a company’s operations that investment managers use to ‘screen’ potential investments. Where a company doesn’t meet the standards that the investment manager expects, they will not be invested in.
- Environmental criteria consider a company’s impact on the environment.
- Social criteria examine how it manages relationships with employees, suppliers, customers, and the communities where it operates.
- Governance deals with a company’s leadership, executive pay, audits, internal controls, and shareholder rights.
