A savings account to help save for your house deposit

There is a savings account that has been specially designed to help first-time buyers aged 18-39 get on the property ladder. It's called the Lifetime ISA and you can learn all about it by clicking the link. If you've managed to save a deposit to buy your first home, congratulations you're one step closer to being a homeowner.

Step 1 on your journey is saving for your deposit - if you haven't opened a Lifetime ISA you can open one and start saving today. It could be a great option as it offers a 25% Government bonus on top of your savings. The account is available to those aged 18-39 who are saving for their first home.

Step 2 is understanding what's involved in buying a house and that's where we can help. We have a range of mortgage guides explaining the whole process, what interest rates and credit scores are and an explanation of mortgage terms that are often used like APR and ERC.

Step 3 is to come back and speak to Mortgage Advice Bureau once you've saved your deposit and read our mortgage guides. They'll do all they can to find you the right mortgage for your first home.
