About our Eastwood branch
A town with coal mining tradition, Eastwood is eight miles north west of Nottingham and ten miles north east of Derby on the Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire border. It expanded hugely during the Industrial Revolution and was the birthplace of the Midland Railway. The A608 and A610 roads link the town with not only the nearby cities, but also the motorway network via the M1. Eastwood Hall, formerly the HQ of British Coal, is now a hotel and conference centre.
Our Eastwood branch is in a prominent high street location on Nottingham Road, close to a card and gift shop, cafes and travel agency and is less than two miles from the large IKEA store at Giltbrook. The team can help with everything from opening a new ISA savings account to finding you the right mortgage through our mortgage partner or financial planning. They are happy to use their expertise to take you through our range of building society services.
Eastwood was the birthplace of writer and poet D.H. Lawrence, whose work included Lady Chatterley’s Lover and The Rainbow. The house in which he was born in 1885 is now a museum.
