About our Grantham branch
Situated on the London to Edinburgh East Coast Main Line railway, Grantham was the birthplace of former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher and where Isaac Newton was educated. The A1 north-south and the A52 both run close to the town, which has an industrial background rooted in the likes of ploughs, engines, tractors and food production, storage and distribution.
Our Grantham branch is in a central location on High Street. It is right at the heart of a retail area that includes a jewellers, opticians, card shop and cafes. The expert and friendly branch team of customer services consultants and assistants and mortgage advisers are happy to guide you through our range of building society services, from opening a new ISA savings account to finding you the right mortgage through our mortgage partner.
In a series of firsts, the town produced the first running diesel engine in 1892, the UK’s first tractor in 1896 and Grantham-born Edith Smith became the UK’s first female police officer in 1914.
