About our Newark branch
The market town of Newark-on-Trent lies in east Nottinghamshire, just over 20 miles from Nottingham. As its name suggests it sits on the River Trent and is popular as a commuter town due to its close proximity to the A1, A17 and A46 as well as the connections its railway station gives to places such as London, Leeds and Newcastle. An historic town, it had significant links with the Norman Conquest and English Civil War.
In late 2018 our Newark branch moved from Market Place to a more modern location on Bridge Street (more details below). The team of expert staff there can guide you through our range of savings accounts or talk about estate planning. They can also help with finding you the right mortgage through our mortgage partner, or help arrange a home insurance policy.
The brainchild, and joint inventor, of the CT scanner, Sir Godfrey Hounsfield, hailed from Newark. He was awarded the 1979 Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine along with Allan McLeod Cormack.
